Things are looking up at the New Town Hall
The Town of Yacolt was recently awarded $194,600 for an elevator for the new building to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.  The town’s share is about $50,000 or 20 percent.  The construction should be done by the end 2010.  Plans are for the town council to hold their monthly council meetings upstairs and open up the downstairs for community events.   The elevator will be built on the outside of the building with access from the inside.  Construction is set to begin in September.
